what is H1B visa?
 H1B is a non-immigrant visa, otherwise called as a work permit issued by the US consulate. H1 B is a visa category in the United States, under the Immigration & Nationality Act, section 101(a)(15)(H).
 
what is the total number of H1B visa's issued per year?
The total number of H1B visas is limited to 65,000. Additional 20,000 applications for those holding U.S. graduate degrees. There is no limit for Universities and Non-profit organisations and Government research labs.

when should i apply for H1B?
As the demand for H1B application is increasing day by day, it closes six months in advance.
 
Can I work in U.S. with H1B visa forever or their is limitation on my stay?
An alien can be in H1B status for a maximum period of six years at a time.This is the maximum limit. After this period an alien should remain outside United States for one year and can re-apply for H1B.
 
Will I be able to apply H1B visa personally?
H1B visa is tied to an employer.H1B visa should be sponsored by an employer and cannot be applied individually.
 
Will I be able to switch company ?
Yes an alien will be still holding H1B status provided the new employer files a new form I-129 for the alien.
 
Will I be eligible to be a permanent resident in United States?
An H1B holder can apply for green card(United States Permanent Resident Card).
 
What is the procedure for H1B visa?
1. A valid passport, expiry of the passport more than 6 months.
2. two photograph, the photograph must measure 2 inches square (roughly 50mm square), with the head centered in the frame, with plain white background.
3. Covering letter from Company in your host country, indicating the purpose of the Visit and firms intent to defray the costs of the trip.
4. Bank statement for the past six months.
5. IT returns for the last three years.
6. Previous work experience certificates.
7. Salary slips for last six months.
8. Copy of Appointment letter with the company.
9. All Educational and Experience Certificates.
10.Completed Application form DS-156
11. Employee's copy of approved form I-797.
12. Letter to the Consular General of the Indian Consulate.
13. Copy of the Employer's letter to the Department of Justice.
14. Labor Certification Approval.
15. Copy of Resume.
16. Two Demand Draft's (one for the processing fee another for Issuance fee), from Nationalised banks.
17. Need to available in person, so schedule for the Visa interview
